Simplified Aadhaar-UAN Correction by EPFO

EPFO introduces a simplified process for Aadhaar seeding and UAN corrections to reduce errors and ease compliance.
On August 13, 2025, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) introduced a simplified process for Aadhaar seeding and corrections in UAN. This is especially helpful where there are mismatches in name, gender, or date of birth, or when Aadhaar has been incorrectly linked. Employers can now validate and update employee details directly through the online joint declaration functionality. If the employer is unavailable or the establishment has closed, employees may submit a physical joint declaration to the regional EPFO office, duly countersigned by a designated authority such as a Magistrate or Gazetted Officer.
